The latest news from Floors Stud

It has been a busy time for Floors Stud. Here is the latest new for Companion, Mystic Meg, Maydanny, Shambolic and Elarquam.

Tuesday 11th June

Companion in the Mark Roberts Motion Control Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Lingfield all weather track: Finished 3rd, the favourite won. There was three quarters of a length between first and third place. Companion was giving away half a stone to the two who beat her, she was carrying 9 stone 7, they had 9 stone.  She also had the worst possible draw in the outside starting stall.

Mystic Meg in the British Stallion Studs EBF Margadale Fillies’ Handicap at Salisbury:
Finished 2nd behind the favourite.  She was carrying 11 lbs (9-12 compared with 9-1) more than the winner!

Thursday 13th

Maydanny (Dubawi ex Attraction 2016) owned by Sheik Hamdan Al Maktoum, ran in the MansionBet Maiden Stakes.

Finished 2nd behind the favourite and was beaten by just three quarters of a length.  Again, carrying more weight at 9-3 compared with 8-12. The going was heavy, so did well in testing ground.

Hopefully we have two runners to follow at Royal Ascot this week:

Shambolic (Shamardal ex Comic, 50% owned by the Duke of Roxburghe) is due to run in the Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2 race for 3 year old fillies) on Thursday 20th June.

Elarqam (Frankel ex Attraction) – owned by Sheik Hamdan Al Maktoum, is due to run in the Wolferton Stakes on Tuesday 18th June.
