What’s new in the garden this week?

Spring is such an exciting time in the Walled Garden with so much to discover and enjoy ech week. Head Gardener at Floors Castle, Andrew Simmons, reveals what the team have been busy working on and what to keep an eye out for during your visit over the next week or two..


We’re now open for the season!

On the 19th of April the golden gates were opened once more and we welcomed visitors from near and far on a very sunny Easter Weekend.


Scottish Café Awards 2019 Finalist

We're delighted to announce that The Terrace Café at Floors Castle & Gardens has been shortlisted into the finals at The Scottish Café Awards 2019.


Wuthering Heights open-air theatre at Floors Castle

Floors Castle is delighted to be working with Chapter House Theatre Company to present a magical open-air garden theatre event in the grounds of Floors Castle this summer.

Join us on Tuesday, 23rd July 2019 for a truly memorable evening of entertainment and see Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights performed in magnificent surroundings.


Gardeners at work

This week the hardworking Gardeners in our Walled Garden and Glasshouses have been incredibly busy getting ready for the upcoming season. They are out in all weathers making sure everything will be ready on time. The Tapestry Garden has been planted up, the Hot Border is being planned out, amongst many other important time consuming jobs that have to be done at this time of year.

Our Walled Garden is open to the public all year round, 7 days a week and is located next to the Terrace Café. Simply follow the signs when you arrive on site. Ample parking is available and dogs on leads are very welcome around the grounds.


Easter Storytime Sessions

11am, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April

Pre-school children are invited to join us for an enchanting storytime session in the Queens House this Easter. Located within our beautiful walled garden and opening its doors exclusively for the event, this pretty summerhouse was built as a place for Queen Victoria to enjoy a cup of tea during her visit to Floors in 1867.


Yummy homemade food for hungry kids

We are delighted to reveal our new children's menu at the Terrace Cafe, which has a delicious range of homemade food for children to enjoy. From chicken sliders to sole goujons, pasta and locally produced ice-cream, there is something for everyone.


Our new spring menu is here!

Our brand new spring lunch menu is here and is now being served every day in the Terrace Cafe at Floors.
Designed by the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe’s personal Chef, along with the Duchess of Roxburghe herself, our menu makes the most of seasonal and local produce.


Be conker battle ready!

As the autumn season is upon us, it’s time to find the best conkers around!


Floors Castle is ‘buzzing’ about the arrival of one thousand clay bees from Kelso High School

More than 1,000 golden clay bees have been handmade, fired and painted locally in Kelso. Young people from Kelso High School and surrounding primary schools have worked alongside their teachers, local community, politicians and business leaders to create ‘The Golden Swarm’. The bees will form an installation that celebrates the collaboration of the local community and is the product of the Golden Swarm project which began over one year ago.
