Innovative ways to manage your vegetable garden with Andrew Simmons

Join Andrew Simmons, Head Gardener at Floors Castle, in an informative behind the scenes workshop. Discover how our thriving vegetable garden is managed and the secrets of our gardening teams innovative thinking.

Learn how pests of vegetable plants are controlled without the use of chemicals, and the useful materials used to keep weeding to a minimum. Explore the Castle vegetable garden and learn how we sow crops at regular intervals to keep a regular supply for harvesting. Andrew will also show you how summer pruning on the apple trees at Floors is carried out.

Andrew Simmons has been managing gardens for decades and has been taking care of the grounds at Floors Castle for 12 years. His last garden was Balmoral Castle where he worked for 10 years. He is a passionate about his work, always striving for the highest horticultural standards.


Times: 10.30am (Coffee and Shortbread served on arrival). Workshop commences 10.50am (Duration 2 Hours). Soup and sandwiches following the event will also be included, as well as FREE access to our beautiful Walled Garden and Castle.
