Scottish Borders Heritage Festival

The Festival will run from Friday 1st September to Saturday 30th September

Floors Castle along with a selection of historic sites across the Scottish Borders are to be turned blue to open the region's heritage festival. Lighting the Borders is a "signature event" for Scotland's year of history, heritage and archaeology. This will kick start The Scottish Borders Heritage Festival (SBHF)

To celebrate the Year of History Heritage and Archaeology 2017 SBHF explore the sense of place through the myths and legends of our Border country and the people who made them in the 9th annual Scottish Borders Heritage Festival. The Festival will run from Friday 1st September to Saturday 30th September and 90 venues will host over 200 events including living history, storytelling, archaeology, walks, tours, film, theatre, music, exhibitions and re-enactments.

This year, Scottish Borders Council and Live Borders have teamed up to deliver the festival with additional funding supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland, EventScotland, Museums Galleries Scotland and the Fallago Environment Fund. Scottish Borders Heritage Festival is part of Scottish Archaeology Month.

Floors Castle Heritage Festival Private Guided Tours,

14:30 on every Tuesday throughout September 2017

Take a private tour of the Castle with one of our experienced Guides. Floors is dramatic and romantic with it’s pepperpot spires and domes and contains an outstanding collection of fine art including many paintings and tapestries. But its charm as a family home is evident and makes a visit especially enjoyable.
