Discover the beauty of Floors Castle throughout the seasons
While Floors Castle itself closes to visitors for the Winter, there’s still plenty to enjoy within our beautiful Walled Gardens, Terrace Café and Apple Shed Giftshop & Pantry.
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful stroll, a delicious homemade lunch, a spot of Christmas shopping or somewhere lovely to spend a crisp Autumn morning, there’s always a warm welcome waiting at Floors.
The Walled Gardens: Beautiful in every season
Autumn brings a tapestry of colour, with golden leaves, fading blooms and the last of the harvest creating a beautiful backdrop for a leisurely wander. As Winter approaches, the gardens take on a quieter charm, revealing the elegant shapes and structures of the carefully considered planting.
Explore the historic four-acre Walled Garden, home to a traditional Victorian kitchen garden and the beautifully designed Millennium Garden, with its formal French-style parterre and charming Queen’s House summerhouse.
From the rich colours of Autumn to the intricate patterns of frost on a Winter morning, there’s always something to admire. Behind the scenes, our dedicated gardening team continues preparing for the seasons ahead.
The Terrace Café: A warm welcome whatever the weather
Our Terrace Café is the perfect place to warm the cockles after a refreshing walk in the gardens. With welcoming indoor seating, it’s a lovely spot for a leisurely lunch, coffee with friends or a well-earned sweet treat on a crisp Autumn morning.
Our seasonal menus are lovingly prepared by the Castle’s own kitchen team, led by the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe’s personal Chef. Using homegrown ingredients from the Estate and carefully selected local produce, you’ll find delicious homemade dishes, including our famous Floors Castle fishcakes, freshly baked scones and tempting cakes.
