Welcome to Floors Castle & Gardens
Floors Castle, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland and family home of the 11th Duke of Roxburghe. Built for the 1st Duke of Roxburghe in 1721, what you see is an evolving story of a house and gardens with impressions left by succeeding generations. We welcome visitors from near and far to come and enjoy this inspiring Castle and its surroundings. From our spectacular Victorian Walled Garden with glasshouses, herbaceous borders and a formal Millennium Garden, to woodland and riverside walks and a delightful cycle trail, there is so much to discover. Families are always welcome and we actively encourage children to explore and have fun during their visit.
We are delighted to offer quality, homemade food and Scottish produce in the Courtyard Cafe, Terrace Cafe and gift shop, and are proud to stock some of the best produce that Scotland has to offer. We believe Floors Castle and Gardens has such life and charm and very much hope you enjoy your visit.
Covid-19 Update: The Walled Garden, Millennium Garden and Terrace Café (with a new autumn menu) are open daily.
From the 17th October until December access to the Walled Garden will be FREE. The Castle grounds will however be closed for the winter season (but will be opening for special events, including our Halloween pumpkin trail and our Mini Portrait Sessions).
Table service has now been re-introduced within our Café, however tables are limited, as we continue to adhere to the Scottish Government guidance. To make a table reservation, please call: 01573 225714. We will also be continuing with our picnic style take away option for those who would prefer to sit at our outside seating area.
Please note the Castle, grounds and the main gates to the Estate on Roxburgh Street are closed throughout the autumn and winter seasons. Access to the site is via the Terrace Café and gardens entrance on the B6397 only.
