This is a new role within our Works Department and represents an excellent opportunity to join

Accordingly, this is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified or time served machine
operator, to join the Estate.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a site-based operator, you will be adaptable and will work in a variety of situations across our
Estate. You will be involved with many aspects of the day-to-day operations of the works, farm,
gardens and grounds maintenance teams across the entire estate including Floors Castle, our
policy grounds and in-hand farms.
Typical tasks include loading and unloading grain at our farms, offloading deliveries, clearing
ditches, repairing roads and field drainage as well as moving woodchip to keep our biomass
district heating system running year-round. The role will also include topping expansive grass
parks surrounding the castle and working closely with the Groundsman. Part of the role will
also include ensuring kit and equipment are kept in good serviceable order through general
routine maintenance.
Overall, our Team are an adaptable group who respond to the challenges at hand. The machine
operator must have a similar approach and be willing to muck in and lend a hand when needed.
HOURS OF WORK
Flexibility is important with a contract based on 5 out of 7 days with a working week of 39
hours. During a normal week the hours would be Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday
08:00-15.30, but these days and hours may need to flex at peak times.

ABOUT YOU – Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Telehandler trained
- 8T Digger or mini digger trained
- Able to operate large modern tractors and assorted attachments
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
