The Gardens and rounds at Floors Castle are a delight to explore with your family and friends.

Combining one of the finest Victorian kitchen gardens in the spectacular Walled Garden with the formal Millennium Garden, the gardens at Floors are a showpiece of seasonal interest and inspired new creations.

Enjoy the frenzy of colour in the breath-taking herbaceous borders, explore the glasshouses bursting with soft fruit with the kids or take a stroll with the dog through the Millennium Garden featuring a French-style parterre and also a charming summerhouse known as Queen’s House after Queen Victoria’s visit in 1867.

The wider Estate Grounds are ideal for walking and enjoying the beautiful countryside, the perfect way to work off your Terrace Café Lunch!

We are dog friendly!
Dogs on leads are very welcome throughout the Grounds, Gardens and both our Giftshops (no dogs inside the Castle please).
There is outdoor seating and water points at the Terrace Café and dogs are welcome inside our Courtyard Café so they needn’t be shut in the car.

Millennium Garden

This lovely formal garden with its French-style parterre was created to commemorate the new millennium and features the intertwining initials of the 10th Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe. The roman numerals MM in box hedging signify the year 2000 and flank the ducal coronet. On the upper terrace are varieties of heritage apple trees trained up circular frames.

Star Plantation

This beautiful woodland garden between Floors Castle and the Millennium Garden is a joy to explore with its lovely mix of mature hardwood trees, open glades and woodland shrubs. The star plantation takes its name from the grass avenues radiating outwards from a central lime tree which is a delightful wrought iron seat.

Walled Garden

Relocated to the West of the Castle in 1857, the Walled Gardens historically grew fruit and vegetables for the Castle Kitchen and to provide flowers for the House.
